Tips for Language Development

✨Talk & Narrate Things✨
Talk to your baby/toddler and explain things, even if you think they don't understand. Describe what you’re doing, talk to them, point out objects, and narrate your activities. This helps them learn by hearing you repeatedly and making connections. You don’t need to do it 24/7, but try to do it in moderation!

✨Read Every Day✨
Kids who are read 5 books a day are exposed to 1.5 million more words than those who aren't (from 0-5yrs old). Repeating books and even board books count towards those five a day! Reading daily boosts language development and future reading skills by exposing children to new vocabulary and concepts.

✨Sing Songs & Baby Talk✨
Songs are great for language development and bonding. And until language development starts to become more complex (around 15 months), “baby talk” is actually HELPFUL for your baby! Using a sing-song voice naturally helps babies learn language. So trust those instincts- they’re there for a reason! For anyone telling you not to do that, just send them this article!

This popular baby toy has been recalled. The brand is “INSTOY” on Amazon and the recall is in the UK. Other brands may make the toy very similarly so be vigilant if you choose to continue to use it. I made a video explaining the recall below.
